50-55 inch Plasma, LCD or LCD LED?

Which one should I get? It will go in our living room. I have no clue. it looks like the plasmas are the cheapest in that size range. But our living is full of light.

if it is full of light, i suggest u choose LCD
plasma is bulky and its the outgoing technology, the rest is the seems to be the direction of the tech at the moment..
Plasma have glare for bright room.If you can afford I would recommend LED but if budget is your factor LCD is the way to go.

There is only 2 possible choices if you can afford it:
Pioneer pro111fd plasma or the samsung un55b8000 led tv
they both produce unreal black level and light wont matter too too much
If you can afford it, then LED is by far the best choice. The colors are brighter, there is no problem with motion blur in fast scenes, it has almost pure blacks (which LCD does not have; plasma is better, but not as pure as LED) and black plays an important part in producing a lifelike picture.
LED is the newest technology out right now. Only Samsung produces a home set, and they cost from 30% to 40% more than LCD screens of the same size.
You are correct that plasmas are a bit cheaper than LCD sets. But LED is the best picture. One day they’ll all be LED sets when the price comes down.
Plasma can not be beat for black levels, which is critical for your overall contrast ratio, but at the price per inch rule.
If you want a big set (maybe over 55″) and don’t have direct sunlight into the room Plasma is the way to go.
Also those who say Plasma is old technology and LCD is the wave of the future, if they only knew what was coming.
Just because you have a room with a light, doesn’t mean Plasma isn’t a choice! Most Plasma TV’s now have anti-reflective screen coatings on them! It most cases, they reflect less then some LCD’s do! I’ve seen it first hand!
Dollar for dollar, Plasma TV’s are the best investment! They’re cheaper per size and have the best pic qualities! 40,000:1 ‘native’ contrast ratios with .001ms response times and 600hz refresh rates! The choice is pretty obvious unless you absolutely hate Plasma TV’s for some reason!!! Which a lot of people on this website do!
