Buying a new HDTV. Should I pick a 50 inch DLP or 40 inch LCD?
Im thinking of buying a new HDTV. Im between two choices: Either a Samsung 40 inch LCD 1080 p with a contrast ratio of 15,000:1 or a Samsung 50 inch DLP 1080 p 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Don’t know exacly the difference between LCD and DLP. The LCD set is about 200 dlls extra. Which television should I buy???

The LCD!!!!!
I’ve just purchased an LCD over DLP due to the longevity the LCD’s have over DLP’s. Sony have apparently stopped making DLP’s not sure why but I guess there’s an indication.
I struggled with the same question because I think DLP’s have a better picture but everyone at the major stores that I’ve asked have all recommended an LCD. Good luck with your purchase.
i would pick the lcd because lcds are slimer brighter and i personaly think shows a richer picture than a dlp and i have seen that lcd and it has amazing picture quality when hooked up to a bluray player
I would have to say it depends on whether you like spending $300.00 to $400.00 buying new projection lamps every year or so. If not, go with the LCD.
Just another thing to consider is if you have children. A DLP is a lot more friendly to small children than a LCD. If you thought fingerprints on a tube TV was bad, just imagine your reaction on the day that your child discovers that they can draw on the new TV and make all sorts of pretty colors.
Samsung 40″ LCD all the way. Best one of that list. The only thing better is 42″ Sony LCD,Bravia.
