Try in between, LOL, 46 inch, Sony Bravia!!
well plasmas come in 42 and 50 and lcds come in 42-46-47 and 52. if its about cost i would go with a 50 inch plasma. if not and you don’t want to worry about a burn-in. I would go with a 46″ Mitsubishi LCD (Lt46244)
Plasma has the best color. LCD has chalky looking blacks and may appear as if you are looking through a screen door if you are at all close. I bought a panasonic TH-50PZ700after much research and it is beautiful!
Go LCD. Plasma’s are slowly diminishing in popularity ever since LCDs started getting bigger. All the pluses for Plasma’s are becoming pluses for LCD tvs.
Also, if you ever got the urge you could hook up the ole pc to your LCD and get a great looking monitor.
Check the Contrast Ratio (10k+/1 for your size) for black to white comparisons
Follow that up with HDMI slots and cable connections. Make sure it’ll have enough to connect your DVD/Blu-Ray, computer, DVR, Cable Box, etc.
Make sure the brand and the place you buy from are reputable. A lot of these TVs have dead pixels which to most people is just annoying. Also, a lot of people just have trouble with them. LCD’s are less fragile than plasmas however(from whta i read). In the case something IS wrong, you’ll want to return the TV easily and without hassle.
LCD’s viewing range is now up to the 178 degree range, so theres no problems there anymore. And as i mentioned earlier, the contrast ratio for LCDs is skyrocketing.
If youre going to be using it for Gaming, LCD is also the better way to go. No burn in (although plasmas are getting much much better with that) to worry about, and LCDs were made to display data,so with component cables, it’ll look great.
Anyway, i really suggest LCD, as would most people nowadays. I just picked up a nice LG 32 inch and i couldnt be more happy.
