It sounds to me like what you have going on is , you must just have regular cable, in which case , the picture would look as you described. If you can, upgrade to HD/Digital cable (set-top box), or if you have satellite, upgrade to Hd satellite receiver & I think you will notice a big difference. Also, Plasma does not look good in a room with too much natural light, as in sunshine brightening the room quite a bit.

Is it an HD-TV? If so, you need have a HD signal for it to be clear.

The first mistake you made was getting a plasma, the screen burn out really fast. After a short time there will be impressions left on your screen, you should have gone with a LCD. Also, the plasma will wash out when there is an open curtain or blinds…

I would check the cables, make sure you have bought the gold plated cables for all of your connections.

You could be sitting too close. But, if it is just pieces that look blury, take it back, it isn’t right.

For the high def stuff, there’s an additional something or other you have to purchase – which they should have told you all about at Best Buy. I was just there a few weeks ago checking out tvs for my residents and was given the whole sales pitch. By the way, did they also inform you that plasmas are no longer being made and LCDs are the better way to go?

If you are watching non-high definition tv on a plasma, you will get this. You need to watch the channels that have HD advertised on them. Not every station has high definition yet,
Just buying a plasma doesn’t guarantee that you will always watch high definition tv, some of the cable companies haven’t made the change overall.

do you have HDTV service at home? if not, it is just going to look like regular TV. you have to get HDTV like they have in the store to have a crisp picture.
