Pause every few minutes or do something that will change what’s being displayed on all parts of the screen–switch inputs maybe. And turn the contrast down a bit, especially if it’s a newer TV. Plasmas, being phosphor-based, innately have very good contrast; turning it down a little won’t KILL you.
The imprint is caused by a combination of video persistence and your TV’s intensity or brightness being set too high. The games you are playing apparently do not have a great deal of moving scenes and varying image levels. This can cause “image burn-in,” where you will see an “imprint” or “ghost image” on your screen even when watching another video source and even when the TV is turned off. Do not allow this condition to occur or continue. It can cause irreparable (or very expensive to repair) damage to the screen.
1. Reduce the screen brightness or intensity to a lower level. The lower the level – the better. Use the minimum level that still produces good picture quality and color saturation.
2. If the TV has a Game mode – use it.
3. If the TV has “pixel shift” or anti-burn-in technology, make sure it is enabled and functioning properly.
4. Do not play any video source that tends to be a bright static image (one that does not move or change very often).
These recommendations should help you out. Good luck.
you usually should break it in with some movies. if you have a lot of loading screens, or like gauges that are always up, they may get burned in permanently
