Which is better a 47 inch LCD 1080p tv or a 50 inch 720p plasma?

Depends what you want. LCD and Plasma are different.
47″ 1080p LCD
1080p is what you want for sure.
That really is apples to oranges. Why not compare 1080p to 1080p?
Very well, given the two, I like the 1080p LCD best.
The Panasonic and Samsung 50″ 720p plasmas are very good though, and are cheaper.
It depends on your source. If you have Blu-Ray or HD DVD it would be worth it to spend the money on the 1080p.
However, since there is nothing broadcast in 1080p other than that that I’d save the dough and get the 720p. What’s the use of a 1080p TV with nothing 1080p going into it?
