I’m looking to buy a 50 inch 1080p tv.

Bought a vizio flat panel tv like five years ago when they were like 1999.99!!!! My now super cool 720P… wow is out dated with the new 1080P tv’s that are thinner, better color and of course half as much now! Anyhow, I’m looking at tv’s at Sears and Bestbuy, Costco, and Walmart, and I’m trying to decide which tv brand to go with. Vizio wasn’t a bad tv… it actually is holding up like a champ and has given me little to no problems so far. I want to know what everyone thinks. I’m looking to spends 900 bucks on a tv, and want to stay in the size range of 42-50 inches. Also should I go LCD or plasma? the 720P and 1080P does make a difference to me but again I was at Sears last night and some tv’s look just as clear in 720P than some of the ones that were 1080P… Let me know where my money should go with this tv.

We just had our LCD HDTV installed yesterday. It’s a Samsung 40 inch. The HD channels look great. The non HD channels look good too but are a little blurry when up close to the TV. Will increasing the sharpness level make the picture more clear or is it the opposite? It was set up at 25% I increased it to 50% and I can’t really tell if it’s better or worse.

Looking at the Sony 50 inch 3LCD projection versus the 40 inch or 32 inch Bravia LCD TVs

Here’s the deal, I have a ps3 now with a few games but I am using a crappy 35” tube tv, it sucks cuz I use to have a 47 inch LG flat panel but it went out cuz LG is junk. I’d love to hae both, but would you sell your ps3 to get enough money together with your other money to buy a 50 inch plasma or just keep the ps3 with your crappy tv?. And yes, I already know plasma’s are out dated too sort of and i know the difference between the plasma and lcd and led. But I could only afford the plasma anyways So what would you do if it was you?
or I will even throw this in, sell the ps3 and get a halfway decent computer, cuz mine originally came with windows 98 so if that tells you anything,lol

Z52DC2D is the Zenith and the 50 inch is Hitachi’s brand-new LCD projection…’not sure of that model number. Most people tell me the DLP is better and nobody has told me that LCD Projection is at all a better choice. No one. Are the blacks in a DLP as about deep as plasmas make them? Please vote even if you are not an expert. I am almost ready to buy the Zenith. Thanks!

a 50 inch LCD on a wall mount. What is the best height for watching from a sitting position, angles to the sides, standing etc.
It is on a mount that rotates side to side and tilts up and down, but I don’t want to rely on that for anything other then fine tuning the angles for the best picture.

I was planning on buying a 50 inch LCD, but have been hearing that the projectors are catching on. I would imagine it would be a larger image, but don’t think it lasts as long. What are the advantages/disadvantages?
